Community

Our Members

Investor in Students is shaped by a growing community of accommodation providers who share a commitment to understanding and improving the student living experience.

Our members span different markets, models and regions, but are united by a belief in using evidence, insight and shared learning to deliver better outcomes for students.

Community

All Investor in Students Members are supported throughout the year

Investor in Students members represent a broad cross-section of the student accommodation sector, including universities, PBSA operators and investors across the UK, Ireland and Australia.

Together, they contribute insight, experience and perspective that strengthens IIS and supports meaningful, collaborative improvement across the sector.

IIS 360

IIS 360 is Investor in Students’ annual keynote event, bringing together members and sector leaders to explore the future of student living and the experiences that shape it.

The event provides a dedicated space to:

  • reflect on emerging insight and trends
  • hear from expert voices across the sector
  • share learning and challenge thinking
  • consider how experience is evolving across markets

IIS 360 acts as a focal point for the community — connecting evidence, insight and conversation in one shared moment each year.

Regional Roundtables

Alongside IIS 360, Investor in Students hosts a programme of regional roundtables throughout the year.

These sessions provide members with the opportunity to come together in smaller groups to:

  • discuss insight in depth
  • share challenges and approaches
  • learn from peer experience
  • explore practical responses to emerging issue

Roundtables are designed to be open, reflective and grounded in real-world experience, supporting learning that members can take back into their own contexts.

Independent governance & oversight

Investor in Students is overseen by an external governance board, ensuring the integrity, independence and credibility of the IIS standard.

The board includes:

  • representatives from Investor in Students members
  • voices from key industry and sector bodies

Together, they provide oversight of methodology, accreditation and development of the standard, helping to ensure that IIS remains robust, fair and trusted across the sector.

The role of the governance board is to ensure that Investor in Students remains independent, rigorous and focused on what truly matters to students. Our responsibility is to uphold the integrity of the standard, challenge where needed, and ensure that insight is used to support meaningful improvement across the sector.”
